PDA won't sync with laptop... any idea why?

I have a Sony Clie (TJ-35) that I use primarily as an ebook reader and contacts manager (and for games when I'm waiting for something). I last synched on 12/5/2005 when I loaded some books and cleaned off some old ones.

Now it won't sync at all. The cables charge it, and I can use the external keyboard, so the port on the handheld is fine. I've tested my USB ports and they're fine. The cables are transmitting power, so they appear to be fine. Thus, it's somewhere in the software (probably.)

I'm using the most recent Palm desktop and missing sync.

1. Nevermind....

It appears the software got fubared somewhere. I used one of the other computers in the house and it sync'ed fine. So I guess I need to do a backup, a re-install and then reinstall the software.

The only decision now is whether to go back to 10.3 or not.
