Microsoft to ship its first Mac-only keyboard and mouse
http://www.tgdaily.com/2006/05/30/microsoft_wireless-desktop_for_mac

A veteran Macintosh user, upon first hearing that Microsoft today announced a new "Desktop" for Macs only, might come to a different conclusion other than the release of its first wireless keyboard/mouse combination.

Today, Microsoft announced its first Macintosh hardware product, which effectively places its company logo on at least some people's Macs for the very first time. The move may leave some Mac users thinking, "First it was Intel, now it's Microsoft!"

The official name of the package is "Wireless Laser Desktop for Mac;" and here, the "desktop" refers to the physical, not virtual, variety. Both mouse and keyboard come in a glossy "futuristic silver finish."

1. It's just a bit of reality striking
M$ knows that Apple's market share is rising, and is just trying to capitalize on it. My PowerMac came with a keyboard and Mighty Mouse (which allows for multiple buttons), but the Mac Mini doesn't, this is the market that M$ is targeting.

4. meh
i use a logitech wireless keyboard, that specifically says "Windows Only." All i had to do was download the basic mac driver from Logitech, and everything worked; f keys, volume controls, extra scrolly thing on the left, everything.
