podcasting question from me and swamprat about streaming audio

into itunes i think?
i'm not sure, if you have questions about the question. ask swamprat. because it's all going over my head.

Technical question: What Apple script is used to stream AAR live weekday broadcasts? Or, does an Apple script actually exist that performs this task?

I don't have the time to do this kind of programming myself right now, though I am fully capable of programming in a UNIX environment (X11 in Apple UNIX/Darwin).

TIA
:hi:

3. I've had luck streaming MP3s using 'icecast'
Here:
http://www.icecast.org/

It can do both live broadcasts and on-demand streaming.

I think there's a Perl interface for controlling it directly while it's running, and there are probably some Cocoa front-end GUIs for administering it out there, too.

The free QuickTime Streaming Server (aka., Darwin Streaming Server) from Apple can also stream MP3s, in addition all the other QuickTime formats. It's a lot more 'heavyweight' than icecast, though.
