Can someone tell me how to "podcast?"

I have an iPod nano and I have taken a new job at a company that blocks all streaming audio and video. I'd like to be able to listen to shows the next day on my iPod...is that what podcasting is?

1. A podcast is an audio file

that you would download and put on your nano. Here's a directory of some liberal shows for you to browse through (and don't forget AAR) plus you can find podcasts at iTunes too - most are free.

3. "Podcasting" is what the term for people who do it, like "broadcasting"

Essentially it's a radio (or video) show that instead of being broadcast live (although there are podcasts made of radio broadcasts) is saved as a file that is downloaded by the listener. An iPod automates this procedure when you "subscribe" to a podcast it automatically looks for the newest one and downloads if it's available.

I am a new Nano user and I *love* it and really enjoy my podcasts.

4. I did it by trial and error on Itunes

If you go to I-tunes and click onto podcasts you can play with it. Down load a few and try them out. I have my I-pod Nano set to manual so that it doesn't automatically sync everything everytime I plug it in.
