The real problem with OS9 browsers is that, being
older, most of them are no longer updated. Bugs
and security flaws are NEVER going to be fixed,
because no one is fixing them anymore.
The good folks at the MozillaProject only recommend ONE
ClassicMac browser which is still being kept up-to-date:
a program called 'iCab'.
Quote: "
Due to the lack of developer interest,
build machines, compilers and testing resources,
the last mozilla.org software built for Mac OS 9
was Mozilla 1.2.1, released in December 2002.
However, versions of our software that old are
not recommended for security reasons. Therefore,
for Mac OS 9 users, mozilla.org recommends iCab -
which is, as far as we know, the only graphical
browser currently maintained for Mac OS 9."
The iCab site is:
http://www.icab.de/ Apparently, it costs $29
for the full version, but they have a free "lite" version you
can download before you spend any money.
And here's a download page for the old Mozilla 1.2.1, if you are willing
to use it "as-is":
