Best backup software/method?

I've finally got enough HD space to do a backup of my main drive. Anybody have any favorite software for this purpose?

1. I always back up to a second hard drive

That way if my HD crashes, my back up is safe.

2. Well, I figured that much.

:) I was just trying to decide on software. I went with SuperDuper, as it seems to be regarded rather highly. I just have to clear off the drive I want to use and prepare it.

I have used Carbon Copy Cloner in the past when I wanted to make an exact copy of my HD. I believe it will work as a backup application as well.

These days, I just copy the files over to my other HD directly. I don't do it automatically on a regular basis, which is where backup software can be handy.

4. I use rsync all over the place at work

Locally, over the network, etc... It's included with OSX, so it's free. It does a great job of doing incremental backups (only re-copying files that have changed), so it's quite fast.

Unfortunately for most, however, it's a command line program, and a bit 'Unixy'.

6. I think Disk Utility that comes with OS X should be able to do what you need.

I haven't looked into this yet. I think you can use it to mirror a hard drive.

7. I've used SuperDuper for a couple of years now without a hitch.

I have it set to backup every monday, wednesday and friday at 3:30 am so I'm never more than a day behind with my backup.
