I'm a Mac newbie, but LOVE Safari. What are the main reasons for switching?
Thx.

3. speed of load
Edited on Fri Nov-12-04 05:40 PM by helnwhls
no hang with mutiple windows. Tabs are nice. I feel safer with it's password and cookie management.

Safari was starting to give me a stutter on page load that was annoying.

EDIT: All the plug ins.

4. Hmm...without a category it's tough to narrow down.
I DO like Quicksilver as well....

A few other utilities that I can't live without: MacJanitor, DragThing, and Konfabulator.

As for other categories, I do web stuff for a living and LOVE BBEdit. It uses little RAM and has a ton of features for OS X. Same goes for Flash MX.

I also think Photoshop 7 is phenomenal.

12. Mariner Write and Mariner Calc
Mariner makes stellar substitutes for the Office suite. No powerpoint sub yet, but that's fine with me at the moment. I use both, but have written several long works on Mariner Write. It's wonderfully flexible.

I happen to be happy with the i-suite. I like mail, iChat, iTunes and Safari. I even like iPhoto for quick editing. It's not Photoshop, but then again, I rarely need Photoshop.
