web hosting services

this isn't just a mac question, but since I'm a mac user, thought I would post it here. I'm looking at different sites to be my web host. Does anyone here have good or bad stories to pass along so that I don't have to have those bad exp. too?

Has anyone here ever used bluehost? It's listed forth on this "best websites" page.

Their website is dated but they offer really good customer service and a reliable server on the cheap.. You only pay for what you use. Sometimes I only pay 50 cents per month. I have used a bunch of hosting services in the past and they are my favorite.

I have never had a problem with them. I did need to upgrade a site to PHP 5 and they did it in about 30 minutes after I sent in a support ticket. And PHP 5 is now the standard there.
