Wow talk about good timing
On Sunday, my ports didn't work. Plugged in my camera - nothing. Tried my iphone and my ipod - still nothing. So I restarted my computer and the ports worked fine. But I decided to have them checked out anyway.

So today I took my Mac to the Apple store and they tested the ports and said I need a new logic board.

Here's the kicker - my warranty is up in THREE DAYS. The repairs would cost $700 if not for the warranty. This is the first Mac I ever bought that I did not buy Apple Care. I have three days to buy it and think I should. My Karma is usually not this good.

1. Desktop or laptop?
AppleCare is a Must for any laptop.

The logic board and the screen are like the engine and transmission. Both are huge expenses in case of a failure.
