Looking for Home Design Software

I'm looking for software that will let me play around with kitchen renovations ideas: removing walls and floorplans/organization, paint colors, flooring, tile, cabinet, and counter textures... lighting.

Is there one program that's better than the others for Macs?

I tried Google Sketchup, but found it rather unwieldy and too AutoCAD for my purposes.

1. Live Interior 3d may be the right balance of quick/easy, cost and features.

Sounds like you aren't wanting a full blown 3d program, but a visualization aid - this might do it for you. It seems to render nicely, and does QTVR and movie renders at HD rez.
It is $80, but you can check out the trial download, and it can use sketchup object library, which might help things along.
