2. Why do you need a plug-in, when that feature is a part of the program?.?.?
If you go to Effects and there is a black and white option.

I don't use iMovie but have version 5.0.2 and noticed the B&W was a part of the program.

Check it out and see if it is what you were wanting.

5. Mine is located above the timeline in the right hand side
Edited on Sun Feb-22-09 03:06 PM by MagickMuffin
there should be little icons, clips; photos; audio; titles; trans; effects; idvd.

I tried an experiment last night but liked I said I don't use iMovie (I've been using FCP), so not sure how to use the effects in iMovie.

I imported a movie clip and added it to the timeline, then I went to the effects button and clicked it, which will open the window for which effect you want to apply. Once you select the effect there is a preview button and apply button at the top of the window pane, however, when I selected the preview button the effect worked both in the mini window, and the canvas window, but when I hit the apply button everything disappeared:shrug:

If you are experienced in iMovie perhaps you will understand what is causing this to happen.

Anyway I hope this helps somewhat. Let me know how it works out.

Good Luck

Edit: I just tried again and apparently it worked this time.
