Question about the spelling suggestions that pop under while typing on my iPod Touch v1

Can I use them to complete the word that I am typing if it guesses right? If not can they easily be turned off? They keep auto-erroring my spammail address from taz to tax.

so if you touch it to make it go away a few times, it will learn that you meant to type "taz" instead of "tax"
