Help importing (old) video from DVD into iMovie or Final Cut Express...
Edited on Fri Aug-07-09 02:50 PM by Sparkly
So I have this old video on a DVD. (Video was taken in 2002.) Its folder contains 16 different files with extensions BUP, IFO, and VOB. I need to get it into iMovie or Final Cut Express to pull out little clips.

File info says "You can only read." So of course I can play it, but that's all.

Short of playing it and videotaping the screen (!!) how can I get this into a format iMovie or Final Cut Express can deal with??

Thanks in advance!!! :hi:

1. Update: I found an answer, FYI
I found a program by "Wondershare" that converts from one format to another, in case anyone else had the same issue!

2. I've run into that on my 2k box
Basically I googled the video type and found a lot of conversion tools.
It's especially hard since there is ZERO support for windows 2000 now - I imagine PPC users have a similar problem now with OSX programs :(

3. Handbrake.
This app extracts all or some of the DVD content onto your HD.

You have to pull the video off the DVD to get "little clips" for editing in iMovie or Final Cut.
