It has some serious issues. I just tried it and it took over the screen, showed no menus and bogged down my computer. I had to force a restart. When I went back to 2.6.6, it was munged up. I found a version that doesn't use X11. It's funky but works.

1. A fix for the problem.
If you launch it and you get huge white letters and the window takes up the screen, here's what you do.

Go to /Library/Application Support/GIMP and open gtkrc. The last line text Lucinda Grande 936 is the problem. Change the 936 to 12. Save the document and start GIMP.
