1. Something good could come of this
If this wakes up Mac users to the fact that Flash needs to be updated manually, that'd be good, because I'd guess that the majority assume (not unreasonably) that staying up to date with Apple updates takes care of everything bundled with the system, with the result that their Flash is way out of date.

Are Adobe stuck in the past? These days, nearly every package of note has the ability to check for updates online - except Flash.

2. An easy way to see if you need an update: Go to spotlight top right corner
and type "adobe" or "adobe flash" and it will let you know if you need an update.

3. Yep. Keep your Flash Player updated always. Hackers are having a field day with Flash these days.
10.0.32.18 is the current build.
