Be wary of iPhone OS 3.1
It used to take 5 minutes to sync my iPhone to my car's audio system. Now it takes 40. Lots of song skipping too.

I've also seen the iPhone battery life go DOWN, and I'm keeping an eye on the battery status icon - I think it might be stopping its recharging.

Others have had various problems (reported on forums on the internet)

If Apple locks down the OS, ostensibly for keeping quality high, they've made a BIG blunder.

And one cannot downgrade to 3.0.

I have a warranty plan for my phone. I might use it. Apple can pay for it. Their mistake. Not mine.

1. I'm doing fine so far. I jumped on all the updates this week, which is unlike me usually.
Must be my sweet new 17-inch MBP doing the talking.

I do see what you mean about the reports out there.

Yikes!

2. Oh, the iPhone on its own is fine. It's when using an external system, a claimed compatible one,
that problems occur.

I just hope Apple will fix it.

3. I have the iPhone 3GS and my hubby has the prior one
and I noticed my husband's have better reception than mine. I had it for a month now and had to reset the phone several times.

4. I've never had to reset mine - voice reception is sublime...
I've had some issues with the data connection on my 3GS, but methinks that's an AT&T problem...

Until OS 3.1 with the advent of effectively losing SYNC compatibility.

Sorry to hear about your having to reset. Have you tried the 3.1 update?

5. Yes I did.
I would hold both phones in my hand and my husband's would have all the bars up plus the 3G and I would have the NO SERVICE message. I hope that solves the problem if not I might have to visit the Genius bar.
