Well my printer finally died
I kill them, and as a writer I just refuse to buy expensive ones any longer.

Do you know when you have installed one too many? When you open the box, start putting components together and are set up and ready to go in five minutes flat, ok ten... the software drivers ...

Now this one is wireless, so after dinner I am installing it on the Mac as well. But this is when you know you have installed way too many of these suckers.

I know, designed obsolesce, so I am set for three years or so... GRRR

1. Perhaps mine just died too, but it's only a year old. I'm hoping it's an easily fixed SL bug

2. They are designed to fail... I hate that
I just gave away a 9 pin dot matrix toy. The thing would not work with any modern machine, but it lasted for over 10 years, then it went to a closet. These days I expect to replace them every three years or so.

3. It took some time to get my printer to work under SL. I was ready to pitch it.
It works now. So does the scanner.

4. That was connected to the Windows machine, so no, it wasn't that
It was three years old, the feeder mechanism for the paper failed. It has happened to me fairly often, so I recognize it.

Now the wireless would work out of the mac, alas I forgot I had a good fire wall... silly me. So I reinstalled it to run on USB. Just go over, connect the computer and print. I hate exporting to RTF to do that, but if I need to, well I need to.
