http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2009/12/approaching-january-apple-tablet-rumors-gain-serious-momentum/Sources have told Financial Times, Business Insider and Boy Genius Report that the Cupertino, California, company is preparing a special event to show off the tablet next month.
The most detailed report comes from Financial Times, whose sources claim the product demonstration will take place Tuesday, Jan. 26 at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco — a venue where Apple has held its previous iPod events.
The Silicon Alley Insider’s Dan Frommer cites a “plugged-in source in the mobile industry” who said Apple has contacted select developers to ready a higher-resolution version of their apps for the tablet event.
Wired.com contacted seven developers of popular iPhone apps, who each said they had not received such a note regarding screen resolution from Apple.
One major iPhone developer, Raven Zachary of Small Society, told Wired.com he had to “ignore media requests pertaining to Apple rumors or confidentiality.” (Small Society helped develop the popular Zipcar iPhone app, which was demonstrated at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in June.)

http://www.i4u.com/article29427.htmlThe Apple Tablet is back in the rumors. This time it makes a side appearance in a big rumor story on the WSJ (Subscription). The WSJ is citing sources that say CBS and Disney are considering partnering with Apple on offering TV subscriptions via iTunes.
Apple could potentially offer monthly subscriptions to TV series from the major networks via the iTunes platform. This would of course pose a serious competition to cable network service providers.
You could watch your favorite TV shows wherever you are; on your iPod; on your notebook or also of course on your TV with the Apple TV box.
As said above the WSJ mentioned also the rumored Apple Tablet in this story. The Apple Tablet is supposed to be a multimedia gadget and is larger than the iPhone, but smaller than a laptop. There is not really anything new in this, but if Apple is able to offer a-la-carte TV service via iTunes, the Apple Tablet would be a very sexy device to show the service off. The majority of users would watch on other devices though, including the good old TV.

The company has yet to even acknowledge it is working on such a device but Wall Street analysts have predicted it is getting ready to mass produce them soon.
The analysts have speculated that the devices would be priced anywhere from $600 to $1,000.
They are being compared to larger versions of the iPod touch. Reports from Asia last month, based on information from anonymous Apple suppliers, said there would be two versions: A 10.6-inch thin film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT LED) panel and another with a 9.7-inch organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panel.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/technology/2009/12/08/news-corp-time-and-conde-nast-forming-tablet-alliance-115875-21882167/As well as Murdoch’s News Corp (home of The Times and The Sun), Condé Nast (publishers of Wired and Vogue) and Time, US publishing power houses Hearst and Meredith Corp are said to be involved in the new initiative.
Time recently demonstrated a version of Sports Illustrated on a tablet device while Condé Nast has demonstrated a digital version of Wired. Hearst has gone even further trailing a distribution system called Skiff. It’s unclear how these disparate trials might be pulled together by the proposed alliance.
