iTunes video length limit?
I posted this on the Apple discussion board, but it has already dropped to the second or third page. Thoughts?

I'm running the latest version of iTunes and Snow Leopard. Using VirtualHub, I converted the 22 gig video file talked about here:

http://nrkbeta.no/2009/12/18/bergensbanen-eng/

...down to a bit over 1 gig. When I try to drag the converted file into iTunes, it simply won't show up in the list of files. Is there a limit to the length of a video in iTunes? I've got a few that are a little over 3 hours, but this particular one is over 7 hours long. Any thoughts you might be able to provide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

ON EDIT: I notice that when I pull up the info for the converted file, it says "Color Profile: HD (1-1-1)". None of my other video files have that. Could this be the cause of the problem?

1. iTunes is MPEG4. It has to be in a mp4 or m4p format.

iTunes will also load and play Quicktime files (.mov) but it won't sync to an iPod or iPhone. If you want to convert that large of a movie and retain picture quality, open it in as a project in iMovie and convert it to Apple TV (which is also mp4, only hi-res) then you can drop it into iTunes.

EDIT: If it won't load into iMovie, then it's a video format that's not supported. You'll need a video converter ap to translate it to mp4 or .dv (digital camcorder format) for iMovie.
