snow leopard bugs
apparently i am running into a common one- mac office wont start. there are font conflicts, and even tho i have validated my fonts, removed the dupes that are alleged to be the problem, it is hanging up.
thinking about installing font nuke-http://www.jamapi.com/pr/fn/
any thoughts?
this is what i get for being geeky.

1. update
did nuke the font caches, dumped a bunch of fonts, tried a couple other things, and still can't run office.
installed open office.
but it still pisses me off.

3. well, the video's run great.
although the office problems are still unsolvable as far as i can see. i even took it in, and i had already done all the things they recommended. they had nothing in their support system about it, although it was out there on the internets.
i was unable to re-install office, but i did manage to polish up the disk and get a new install. the new install froze when it got to the visual basic, but after that it went back to hanging at "optimizing font menus". oh, well, open office seems to work ok.

had a couple photoshop bugs come up, but did manage to fix those. there are other complaints about that out there, and they say the fixes don't stick. so we will see on that. had some indesign bugs, also, of a non-fatal nature.

but i did used to have videos crash pretty regularly, and i don't think i have had one do that since.
i am somewhat tempted to reinstall leopard, and just go from there. in the meantime i will enjoy the videos.
