I'm green with envy!

:bounce:

I really want one, but I don't have money for new toys. :-( So, please let me vicariously experience your thrill. :D

two days of work will pay for an iPad. We get paid $250 for that day. By then updates and fixes will make it a better machine.

4. not me only because of the lack of flash support - wish someone would fix that

although they aren't equivalents, I saw Engadget will be reviewing something that showed up on their doorstep this weekend - http://www.engadget.com/2010/04/01/the-joojoo-is-here-seriously/ I can't wait to see their full review since it does have Flash, which would make it great for creating portable interfaces for projects.

If anyone finds a way to override Steve Jobs' system for keeping Flash off the iPhone or the iPad, lemme know. I am itching to buy but can't without it!

12. Actually even though it supports flash
it is not a good deal, same price as the IPAD basic, and actually it does less.

Just saying.

Good luck to these guys, and I am not getting a PAD either...

5. 3G Top of the line for me... so I have to wait.
But I'm already buying my apps. Some are on sale today only... .Like Mini Gore (a shooting game).

I figured since I work for AT&T I'd get the 3G version, since they don't let personal computers on their wi/fi at work... I have to goof off on 3G instead.

7. I will eventually buy one...
I'm going to look on Craigs List when the 3G's come out, because no doubt someone is going to want to upgrade from their wireless by then, LOL. I get all my Macs on Craig's List - both my iBook and iMac aluminum were cheap and in pristine condition. I've found the Seattle area is a very good place for Mac bargains.

8. I won't get the first generation.
I can wait for the next one to be produced. I learned the hard way when I got the new aluminum Macbook Pro. The second generation came with greater battery life something I really was forward to. Of course, it was also much cheaper.

9. I used to be that way. Now I learned a new way...
Get some friends who want your old Macs for cheaper than brand new. They get Macs, I get new Macs!

4 year old 17" powerbook G4 $400.
2000 iBook SE (the kind Legally Blonde used) $350 to a college student.
2006 iMac 20" Intel. $250 and 5 Pizza Hut Spicy Wing orders(with free blue cheese) over 3 months. The HDD was dead on this one, so not as big a bang for buck... but those wings were expensive to deliver.;)

The $250+Pizza Hut boy already is already claiming my 1st Gen iPad when Gen 2 comes out. Especially now since his favorite game is on it (MiniGore). I just have to wait 'till 3G.

10. I went to an Apple Store and played with one
Got a Geekgasm but walked out empty handed. No Cam was the killer. I use mine every week on my Netbook. I cannot believe they left one out.

11. I played with one today . It's very fast, as fast as you see
in the commercials. I like that you can do a lot with the minimum of hand and arm movement. Using a mouse or trackball is painful now, the iPad is perfect for the arthritis sufferer.

13. No it wasn't, at least not the one I was using
Yes I went to play with one. Pages was sluggish (though other word processors might do better, not kidding)

Now as a GAME platform, I am in love...

But as a computer. not better than my IPOD.
