1. My wife and I are going to squeeze into an Apple Store tomorrow and take a look.
By the time we get to them, I imagine they will be very 'touched.'

Will bring hand sanitizer.

2. Got mine
It arrived at around 10am this morning. I'm loading stuff onto it now.

Surprisingly solid feeling for something so thin. And all the reports of it being fast are spot on based on what I've seen so far.

I bought the iWorks bundle, because I know I'll use that quite a lot. Also, I was delighted that Papers is now universal, and updated that yesterday as well. That was the app I was most interested in when the iPad was announced since it's hard to read journal articles on the tiny iPhone screen.

I'm still trying to decide what game I want, and what books to download.

So exciting! :D

3. Get the Marvel Comics app. there's like 6 free comics in there to try out
It's sweet! ...and I'm in my 40s so I don't say that much.

Also... I'd go for Need For Speed. It's $15, but that's about $30 less than the XBox version. Gotta show off the animation.

4. Marvel app
I'm typing this on my iPad. :) The Marvel app is indeed excellent. So is the ABC app. Very spiffy and fast. Reading news on this is a real pleasure. I'm loving it so far.

6. For those of us waiting, keep in mind some of these apps are on sale.
I bought a handful I knew I wanted for when I get a 3G model, because I was afraid they were going to o up in price before it was out. It just stays in iTunes and waits for your iPad, so no big deal.

I bought GoodReader 99¢ ... a PDF reader. Will go up in price.
Mini Gore HD. $5.99 ($3 off reg price now) a shooting action game upgrade from iphone.
Shanghai- also on sale $1.99. The best Mahjong game I've played.

A photo editor, Masque is also on sale, but since there's about 12 photo editors already for it, I thought I'd wait for reviews.

7. How are the bookmarks handled in Safari? I forgot to
check that when I was playing with an iPad.

8. Bookmarks
They're handled pretty much the same way as on the iPhone. There's a little bookmark icon at the top, which you tap for a drop down menu to access your bookmarks. When you select a bookmark to open, Safari opens a new page for you within the application. To navigate between pages, you go to a thumbnail type screen to select.

To add a bookmark, you just tap the + on the menu bar. You then have the option of putting them in the bookmarks dropdown, emailing the link, or putting them on your home page as an icon.

Hope that answers your question.

11. No tabs
Nope, Safari doesn't have tabs. Navigation is done on the thumbnail screen. It's very fast though.

12. I never got the touch or the iPhone, so it will take me a bit to learn the mobile
way.

I'm glad they are adding multitasking to 4. of the iPhone OS

10. Sweetums was unhappy with me hand-me downs Macs, so I got her one
It took her 5 minutes to go from, "this sucks, I don't like the mail function. How do I . . . ? "
to
"WOW, THIS THING IS GREAT! EVEN MAIL!"
I suspect that the silence that followed may have had something to do with her new toy in her hands.

The Elements is worth every penny. Pages is OK, but necessary. Safari kicks MF butt with speed and visuals. We've already played some scrabble and backgammon.

This machine is everything I expected, wanted, and suspected, plus a lot more.
