What is with all the Apple bashing lately?

These guys are like catholics on a rampage after they've seen a passion play in Russia! Both GD and Lounge are inundated with them for a solid week!

I should start a circumcision thread in GD just to distract them. What? Not enough oil spills in the ocean for them to take a day off?

1. It's almost a sickness with some, isn't it?

No company is above reproach, but IMO Apple doesn't deserve the amount of vitriole constantly leveled at it. It isn't just here, it's everywhere. You can't say anything positive about Apple anywhere on the internet, I'm convinced, without the Apple haters coming out in force. It should be a new internet law, like Godwin's Law. And of course a bunch of them all begin their diatribes with "I'm an Apple user myself, but..." So fake.

Like all those callers into C-Span saying "I was a lifetime Democrat, until..."

It seems to be the Message Forum version of Smear the Queer. The same 20 or so people show up every time, and spout the same tired arguments. Just within the last couple of weeks it's been especially viral on DU.

It almost makes me long for another Vegitenation food fight again.

3. I think they are 2 reasons:

1) They are jealous they don't have the money and/or brain power to use a mac AND they are ultra-jealous that they still have to buy all that extra anti-whatever software that most mac users don't buy or worry about!
2) They are paid operatives of Microsoft


They complain about "Mac Fanboys", but they are so much more attached to their feelings of love for microsoft then most of the apple folks are (that I've seen anyway)...so they are the real "fanboys"!

4. Projection

there are some douchebags who use macs, yes.

But there are far more douchebags who use PC's (by simple percentages, if nothing else)

They assume that all mac users are pretentious computer illiterates, and treat us as such.

5. Apple haters are in every corner of the Internets. When Engadget or Gizmodo posts an Apple story...

About 10 percent of their readers go ballistic and quite loudly. This is on a gadget blog. How can you seriously discuss gadgets without talking about Apple?

So now both blogs have an 'Apple filter' for the crybabies. You can read their blog sans Apple stories.

They don't need a reason to hate Apple. They just do.

Amazing that it's only the negative ones that last. Positive Apple threads die very VERY quickly... if posted at all.
