IPad question
I love my iPad. Got it for Mothers Day so I've had it about 6 weeks.

It holds a charge for a long time. At least 8 to 10 hours. But when it needs charging it takes forever. If I plug it in overnight it still isn't fully charged the next morning. If I plug it in before I leave for work in the morning it is still not fully charged when I get home that afternoon.

Doesn't seem right.

The iPhone has a much shorter battery life but it also charges a lot faster.

Should I take my iPad in to the Apple store? Or is this lengthy charge normal?

Thanks.

1. It does take a while but it shouldn't take all night.
I hook mine in when I go to bed and it's at 100% when I wake up, even from a real low <20%.

You might want to get it checked out.

What do you use?
Are you recharging with a computer, our the power adapter that came with. I think charging with a computer USB port takes twice as long. Use the wall adapter.

If you are using the wall, you might want to schedule a Genius Bar appointment.

4. You are trying to use a USB1 port to charge. It won't work.
It has to be a USB2 port. But since you said it's the wall outlet your trying to charge with, then you should take the other's advice and schedule an appt. with the Genius Bar. There's something wrong with your battery.

5. not all wall chargers are the same
Note the iPhone and the iPad chargers may look alike, but one (the one that
came with the iPad) has twice the amps that the other does.

Take a look at the very very very tiny print on the side of the charger and
make sure you're charging with the one that says "2.1 amps"

My iPhone charger just puts out 1 amp, so I'd expect it to take longer.
