Anyone know how to delete the contact file on a Mac?
I signed up for Mobile Me the other day and not only is it not working but somehow my contacts file got scrambled.

I have a MacBook, an iPhone and an iPad. The guy at the Apple store talked me into Mobile Me to save time syncing from my iPhone to my iPad.

So I signed up and next thing I knew my contacts on my phone and my MacBook are all scrambled. It's a mess! My contact file on my iPad is correct. So I want to delete the entire contacts list on my MacBook, then sync with my iPad. Then if that puts the correct contacts list on my MacBook I'll resync my iPhone.

But I don't see how to delete the entire file on my MacBook.

Eventually I'll have to decide if I want to keep Mobile Me. So far I am obviously not impressed.

I have a Genius Bar appointment tomorrow. But if I can fix it myself before then I'd be grateful.

Thanks for the help!

1. I'm assuming you mean your address book?
If that's the case, go to edit and delete card. To do it in bulk. Highlight the first card, then press shift and highlight the last card. They all should be highlighted. Press delete cards - confirm deleting and your address book should be empty.

You might also try this... Sync your iPad. And alert should come up, where your Mac has found discrepancies in your addr. book, and asks you which one you want to keep. Choose the iPad version on the left. If it does not come up, then stop syncing. and turn off sync contacts in iPad tab in iTunes. I had a discrepancy in my calendar between my iPad and my iPhone and an alert popped up showing an appointment in the middle of a plane flight. It asked me which one was true, and I clicked. This may work for addr. book too.
