That line from an old Dave Dudley song kept running through my head this evening as I was working on an an audio project on the old G4
tonight. It's like driving a Cadillac compared to my old windows rig .

1. The only time I have to touch a Windows machine is when my poor, dear mother asks me to "fix" hers.
Much sadness and frustration ensues.

(I've been drooling for a Mackie Onyx 1620i FireWire Mixer for a while now. It looks to be a great hybrid of a nice analog mixer and a DAW controller.

Maybe in a couple of months...)

2. That looks pretty sweet
I'm still using an old 24x8 yamaha analog board circa '95. I'm going to put that Onyx on the wish list, I've got a FW800 port and 2 FW400 ports so I bet it will fit right in :)

Yes, logic 7.2, I'm just learning it, but so far I love it.

I upgraded the os to Leopard 10.5.8 and added a 320gb slave drive and she runs like a bat out of hell. Tonight I was working on mixing down a live performance I recorded to multitrack of a friend's band. 12 tracks at 24 bits , each 45 min long so I had 9 songs at once open, running plugins on 8 or 9 tracks, multiple plugins on some and it never even blinked, ran as smooth as butter the whole time.

That windows box I was using before would have choked and died trying to run all that :P

edit for iPhone typos

7. Very cool
Logic is like 6 applications in one -- amazing capabilities. I occasionally lurk on LogicProHelp.com for tips and tricks.

Have fun!
