Defective Unibody MacBook batteries
Anyone had the problem of their battery swelling up and popping the cover off?

Did Apple replace the battery with no charge?

I am in Vietnam, where I bought the laptop in Nov. 2008, so the warrantee has expired. Should that make a difference with a defective component? The battery still worked like new except it won't fit into the allotted space anymore. The local retailer where I bought the computer said that they can not help me except to sell me a new battery at the retail price, about $150.

I am bummed! What do you suggest?
