Oh geez another mac problem
Ever since I got my mac I have been trying to update my OS (OS X 10.6.2) to the suggested updated version. Considering I'm still on dial-up, this is a 20hr.+ process.

Every time after the download I get a box with this message:

The update "Mac OS X Update Combined" can't be saved.

The update could not be verified. It may have been corrupted during downloading. The update will be downloaded and checked again the next time that Software Update runs.

Try as I may I can't find any place on the Apple support(?) site to inquire about this problem.

Any ideas?

Thanks..

1. I never solved the problem you describe with dialup. I sometimes used to download updates onto a
faster machine, transfers to a flashdrive, then bring the flashdrive home and install the update on my machine. One possibility might be to take a laptop with wireless to a wifi hotspot and download your updates there; if all else fails, you might try that at the nearest Apple store. I finally just paid for better faster internet service. You might check if DSL is available in your region.

2. Thanks struggle,
where we live, and our current budget make getting a faster internets service not in the cards right now.:-(

I'll give another computer(faster internets) a try but it's gonna be a PC, would that be a problem?

I'm really enjoying this computer, but it sure doesn't like dial-up.

I appreciate all the Mac help here, getting this newbie though the transition from PC to Mac.:applause:

3. You can buy the upgrade on disk from Apple for $29.

4. Well, that worked
I down loaded the upgrade with another computer with a faster internets connection, transferred it with a memory stick and installed with no problem. The Opera problem went away as well..

THANKS ALL:yourock:
