What's with all the apple hating in the rest of DU?

Apparently Apple pulled the WikiLeaks App from the app store.

It was basically a mini-browser that connected to the wikileaks mobile page. It was developed by a Russian developer and cost $1.99

I have no idea why apple pulled it. Legal issue? I don't know

Nonetheless DU is is full blown "Apple is fascist and is censoring the internet" mode

When I explain the app was just a web browser, and that you can read wikileaks on your iPhone, iPad, iPod with Safari I just get ignored.

well, he did until we got an iPad, which he almost instantly fell in love with.

4. I remember being the Mac person in an all PC office. They came up with some crazy "Macs can't do X"

"Mac Can't Do Y" stuff.

Them: There is no software for Macs

Me; Funny here is a catalog full of Mac Software

Them: Mac Laptops are sooo expensive!

Me; This one is configured better than your top of the line ThinkPad and it costs $300.00 less

While these videos gently poke fun of Apple, let me just say that if it's a choice between Microsoft and Apple, I would choose Apple every day of the week and twice on Sunday. I'm not a fan of Apple's walled garden approach I absolutely positively detest Windows.

8. There's kind of a computer geek macho that scorns anything that's too easy

As in, "Hmph, I can build a better computer than that from secondhand spare parts and program it to navigate the space shuttle for $300, suckers."

Except that I don't WANT TO build my own computer. I want something that works right out of the box with a low learning curve.
