waiting for the Auteureist IPAD app to finish downloading
Edited on Sat Jan-22-11 01:13 PM by nadinbrzezinski
but cannot wait to kick the tires on this one. No, not the cheapest, of critter, as far as Apps go... but I've used it on the IPOD since, oh early adopter.

Yes as early adopted I am getting the headaches. Wait a couple of days for Serg to get this done.

1. Do you also use Scrivener?
It looks like there is some support for integration with Scrivener, and I'd be very interested in how well that works. I just wish that Auteurist didn't cost so much. Otherwise, it looks great.

2. Wait to get it if you decide to
let's just say I have gone though these birth pains before. I got the IPOD version back in the day... and if there is support with Scriv I will be in heaven. But first we need to get over the birth pangs... I feel like an unofficial open beta tester for Serg.

3. I'll be watching, since I'd like a better mobile editing workflow
Right now, I import a PDF (50-100 double-spaced pages at a time) into NoteTaker HD, and then use a stylus to mark it up. It felt fairly natural after some practice. NoteTaker HD lets me email the annotated PDF back to myself, and then I can work the changes into my Scrivener copy. I'd love to skip the PDF and transcription steps, even if I have to give up the stylus.

5. Well for the moment the fix is in ...
Edited on Sat Jan-22-11 09:05 PM by nadinbrzezinski
first time you turn it on, put a password on it. That will fix the problem... like oh the IPOD touch... as I said I feel like a beta tester at times.

I have not tested the Scriv yet... either today or tomorrow.

I was in love with the app on the Iphone, and once it works... it is very slick...

Wait a little until we testing bunnies are done... tracing the issues.

These are the joys of being early adopters... and finally sending things onto the wild...

6. Yes it will work with Scriv, using Multimarkdown export
No, wait until the fix is out. There are many birth pains. Poor Serg tweeted he was going to fire his testers... I can't say I can blame him. I got a couple work arounds until this is fixed, and I suspect, like the first version of the IPOD... the fix will be in FAST. If nothing else Serg is really responsive.

Oh and it does look pretty, and for the moment it is functional... but the work arounds ain't pretty.

8. Did a short story on it...kick the tires as it were
It has some crashes, save often...and a few other early pod hiccups...but it definitely works. Now will be able to do the review.

Oh and that short story is quite dark...but with dropbox integration it works well.

9. Well more birthing pains than there should be
but it seems to be FINALLY working... as an early adopted I should know this. The IPOD version had way too many of those...

anyhow FINALLY using it for a novel... and yes backing often... that is just good practice.

Oh and works great with my external blue tooth keyboard.
