Husband wants speakers for our new iMac. Need suggestions

because he is looking a 12" tall ones and that will drive me nuts. Any recommendations on decent speakers? We are not rich so....

1. Where in the house is the iMac... home office? Big/small apartment?

What are you trying to do? Will this be part of a home office or entertainment center?


I think the Bose computer speakers look and sound descent. They run about $99 before taxes. I still have an old Labtech set that have 2 speakers plus subwoofer that I bought for less than $50 and still sound great after 8 yrs. Labtech have good entry level computer accessories, at least back in the days. But if I had to get a new set, I would get the Bose set.

2. Here are a bunch of reviews for inexpensive computer speakers.

My MacBook is hooked to an integrated amp and some Klipsch speakers, but that combo cost over $700.00. Purchased them back in 2000 BB (Before Bush) when I made a decent living.
