Activist list serv got hacked, can't delete emails from ipad

Hello, I'm hoping someone on here can help me. I am on a election integrity (radical promotion of fair & transparent elections) list serv and a member of this group got hacked. I was on my ipad reading emails last night and my ipad mail default is set to open 2 lines. I went to delete emails from this group and I can not. My teenage son tried every way he would think of and also could not. My ipad is NOT in sync with our main mac, and I went downstairs and was able to delete all emails from this group off the main mac (and immediately emptied trash) but there is still email on the ipad that will not delete. Any idea? Searched help.

Should I make an apptmt at the genius bar? suggestions are appreciated.

1. Turn it off and reboot it.
