The aim of this workshop is to build a more cohesive, integrated, and sustainable progressive movement in the south. Each participant will leave this workshop with a more developed understanding of what makes a successful organization possible. It is our goal that this event
will provide a catalyst for increased cooperation at the local and state level. Utilization of each progressive organization and progressive individual is of foremost importance in creating and sustaining a successful progressive movement in the South.

1. first open grassroots advocacy summit in Louisiana IT'S COMING TOGETHER!!

Chairman of Democracy for America, Jim Dean (Howard Dean's brother) will speak at the Hilton Garden Inn, 1001 South Peters Street, Warehouse District in downtown New Orleans for this day-long workshop which is open to all democratic activists from Louisiana and the Gulf Coast region. Jim Dean and other panel discussions will address Democratic policy in the South and provide tools to improve the success of Democratic grassroots efforts. Registration fee is $25, or $15 for students. Advance registration is recommended and available online www.beaucoupblues.com

Doors will open at 8:30am and the first panel begins at 9am. Panel discussions address Media and Message, Taking it to the Streets, African Americans in Louisiana Politics, The Heart of the Party-Why We Are Democrats, and Fueling the Tank. A growing list of confirmed panelists includes Cheron Brylski, Sybil Holt, Willie Fontenot, Cynthia Morrell, Jalila Jefferson, Don Cravins, and Christina Kucera, among others. The workshop concludes at 6:30pm after hearing from Keynote Speaker, Jim Dean.
