What kind of dish soap container do you have? This is

trivial, but drives me nuts. I use liquid dish soap but hate the plastic containers they come in. So it seems I'm always buying lotion dispensers or something similar because I think they look better and there are many varieties, but don't usually work all that well. Either the soap gets clogged, the sprayer part is too long and takes forever to get the soap up to the top, or they break.
So, any ideas out there for something functional that's purty?

1. 2 of them....

We have the one that fits in the 3rd hole of the sink (my sink has an integrated sprayer in the faucet) that works pretty well; I thin the soap a little - 1 part water to 3 parts soap, I think.

A friend uses a plastic perrier bottle with a pour top.

There's an adorable rubber duckie one I saw once, but can't find .... :(

2. I use an old olive oil bottle

Easy to pour, and it's prettier than one of those plastic bottles.

3. We use this extremely attractive decorator bottle

I've tried all those fancy pumper bottles ... stainless steel .... plastic ..... china ...... the fact is, they all use the same stupid pump mechanism. And that stupid pump mechanism always clogs or breaks.

I suppose one could always find an unlabelled bottle to use and pour from the stock bottle to that to use on your counter.

5. We use the same one (more or less)

it depends on which liquid detergents I have the triple coupons for. As long as it isn't blue, it works with the kitchen. Fortunately, Dawn, which I swear is the best, now comes in colors other than blue.

My problem is my husband always closes the nozzle and I like it to remain open. I usually grab the bottle with wet hands or something in my other hand and I'm not about to pull it open with my teeth!!! I mean, really!! If it gets bumped over, just how much of that stuff will ooze out? Not enough to deal with grabbing a closed bottle when I'm in a hurry.

4. I have a dispenser hole on my sink.

We connected a long tube to a gallon-size container of soap. Only had to replace it twice in 2 1/2yrs.

6. Not to change the subject, but...

...I love the new foaming hand soap. It's just so .... foamy! Now when I use the regular liquid soap, it seems like I never have enough... foam!

Btw, I keep the liquid dish detergent under the kitchen sink. Not convenient but at least out of sight until I need it.

8. why not decopage something cool on one of the soap bottles? or

they make pumps for glass italian syrup bottles (Torani) that you soak the label off and use just a glass bottle. the pumps are about $2 each and should work fine for dish soap.

I use a bottle with just a spout for my olive oil, the same would probably work well for dish soap
