So I've got this pork shoulder roast...
It's been sitting in a ziploc bag with a nice rub for going on 24 hr., so I figure it should be ready to cook today.

Problem is: I don't have a smoker or a grill, so I imagine I'll have to do it in the oven. :hide:

Any suggestions about the best way to go about this? Temperature, time, methods, etc.? And no, I don't think I can run out and buy a smoker this afternoon...

Thanx!

1. Couple of options...
If you're going for the barbeque type cook, heat the oven to 350, put the roast in for 30 minutes, then turn down to about 275 for a couple hours. Cook uncovered for the first 30 and last 30 minutes, but cover with foil in between.

If you need it done faster, bake at 350 for about 45 minutes per pound.

3. Came out great!
Tender, moist, tasty, the usual. I probably could have left it in the oven for another hour, although it might have melted if I had! Thanx again! :9

5. Glad to hear it!!
I love pork roasts - they so rarely come out badly, and there are no worries about getting them too done. It takes a LOT to ruin a pork roast.
