1 6-pack any Wisconsin beer (I suggest something cheap and awful)
Cultural Note: Heavy reliance on local Wisconsin beer is the ESSENCE of this traditional northwoods recipe for UNsuccessful hunters...
an eighth stick of butter 1 tablespoon corn starch or 2 tablespoons flour a squirt of any brown mustard 1 blurble of a Worcestershire sauce as much black pepper as you can stand (probably 1/4 teaspoon) 3/4 cup Wisconsin heavy cream handful of cheese curds (preferably Colby) 1/2 teaspoon of salt a blurp of hot sauce (optional but very Northwoods)
4 slices stale multigrain (or otherwise HEAVY bread--preferably NOT moldy)
Steps:
1) Drink 1 or 2 beers with friend(s) before starting 2) put butter in 2-3 cup pyrex measuring cup, microwave 30-60 seconds 3) mix in starch, microwave again for 1 minute. 4) add 1/4 can of beer reserved from socializing with buds in kitchen 5) Whisk mustard, Worcestershire, salt, pepper and cream into Pyrex container 6a) toast stale bread 6b) simultaneously add cheese curds to sauce mix, microwave for 1-2 minutes (note cheesy mix shouldn't boil) 7) add hot sauce, then, stir(if you have the courage, Minnesota northwoods variation is to stir with unwashed thumb) 8) pour cheesy mix over toasted bread.
Immediately serve with any remaining beer.
If you think this is a joke...prepare and eat it!
YUMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
Who wants to shoot a bunny and pick pellets from the flesh anyway?
