Guacamole, coming up!

I have two gorgeous avocados ripening in a paper bag, and in a couple, three days, they're going to be ready.

My personal guacamole recipe has always been avocado, onion, and tomato, with a squeeze of lime juice in there. Sometimes I through in minced garlic.

And I once threw in a hit of Miracle Whip, which everyone LOVED. I might do that with this batch.

So, what's your favorite guacamole recipe?

(And did anyone see the episode of "Real Housewives Of Atlanta" where one of the women - not a very bright one - is in a Mexican restaurant, announces she's never had guacamole, orders it, and freaks out when the server uses a molcajete to prepare the avocados, and the woman freaks out when she finds out the molcajete is made of stone.

"You're using a rock to make my food? she shrieks. “You’re out of your mind! That can’t be sanitary. It tastes like !”

Yes, I do love those Real Housewives shows, god forgive me.)

1. I'm a minimalist when it comes to guacamole

Mashed avocado, fresh lime juice, a dash of cumin. That's all. I like blue tortilla chips with it.

2. Here's mine

Avocados, finely chopped onions, garlic powder, S&P, lime or lemon juice, small amount of homemade salsa, and sometimes chopped cilantro. I like my guacamole chunky, big pieces of avocado, I like the texture better this way instead of super creamy.

My homemade salsa consists of onion, garlic powder, S&P, jalapenos, canned tomatoes, lime juice, sugar, and sometimes cilantro.

3. I can't watch those high maintenance trophy babes

because I want to snatch them baldheaded, scratch their eyes out, and slap them into the middle of next week. My gawd, all that money and intense pampering and they're still miserable.

If we do go all the way from deep recession to depression, though, please let us watch the trophy babes struggle. My guess is that eating salsa made in a molcajete will be the least of their worries a year from now.

My own guacamole is Haas avocados, chopped tomato, chopped onion, minced garlic, lime juice, and serrano pepper for heat. I keep it chunky rather than puree it smooth, although I've been known to buzz the serranos, lime juice, and garlic so people don't get a big surprise on a cracker. I have a molcajete, but I use that mostly for cooked stuff and grinding seeds.

4. Mine's pretty simple.

Avocados partially chopped, partially mooshed, tomatoes and green onions finely chopped, fresh lime juice, salt, pepper, garlic, and a couple of dashes of Frank's Red Hot. I never liked guacamole until I started making it. Now it's my favorite part of Mexican night around here.

I've never watched Housewives, Lost, Sex in the City, Heroes, or any of the reality or screaming bachelorette shows. Too many really annoying people walking around in real life to want to watch them on TV, too. :rofl:

5. Mine's just garlic, lemon juice, & avocado

Very fresh-tasting and simple.

Sometimes I even use garlic powder instead of fresh garlic (don't tell anyone!).

6. Costco for granulated garlic

I get a big jar of it for about five bucks, and, honestly, for flavor in wet things, it's as good as fresh garlic.

8. Avacado, lemon juice, garlic salt

and just a T of mayo - and for me it has to be Hellman's. Sometimes a shot or two of hot sauce if I feel like it.

Some people will cry blasphemy about the addition of mayo, but I like mine super creamy. The mayo makes a difference, but you can't add too much!
