recipes in one place? Demopedia! help me come up with categories

5. I tried to add 2 recipes to the main dishes on Demopedia

Did I do it right ? I'm not good on the computer. It won't take pics that are in a recipe that you can't edit. Is this what you wanted ?

I kept adding about 20 recipes. When I went to save it said I needed to log on to Demopedia. I guess I need to save them one at a time. Do we want the name of the author too ?

Edited after most of my 20 recipes weren't there. It won't take long lines of ********************* seperating portions of recipes. Kind of not real user friendly.

8. OK i cleaned it up a bit, thanks Bearfan for add a couple to work with

here's the deal

use an asterisk in front of the ingredient list to make it line up right

*1 cup sugar
*2 cups flour

use three equals signs on both side of the name of the recipe to get it to show up in the index

11. Question and suggestion

First my question:

Like bearfan, I'm not great when it comes to understanding how a computer system works. I tried to follow H2S's instructions for posting a picture the other day and got a message that it was an illegal something or other. Anyway bearfan said he typed the recipe in, but evidently it didn't take? Can we just take recipes that have been entered here and cut and paste them?


Second a suggestion for categories:

What about adding beverages. The could probably just be added to the appetizer category.

Another category I'd like is "quantity cooking", you know for say 20 or more, where it gets beyond doubling a recipe. For many years, it seems like I get tapped to prepare buffets or portions of dinners for campaign fundraisers. The best spaghetti I ever made was for 150. I haven't a clue how I made it and had to stand on a stool to reach over the top of the pot to stir. All I can say is I must have eaten two loaves of bread while dipping and adjusting. Also, I know a couple of women who are in organizations which take turns with other groups, supplying and cooking at a soup kitchen.

I did copy and paste starting from the last page of our forum and worked backwards until it said to split it or something.

15. we need to add this line to the bottom to send folks back to the top

on edit, this works cut and paste it onto the bottom of the
recipe and it will send folks back to the top

I put soups under appetizers for now. I will go back tomorrow and edit the recipes to put the name of the persons that submitted them. My granddaughter is here now and I have to get off the computer so she can do her feeding frenzy and sonic on line games.

25. How 'bout a 'Holiday Traditions' section.

I notice we have a thread about Valentine's Day specialties that is quite good. We could add a section for all the major holidays. It would be really interesting if we could get posters from other cultures to post their holidays and what they cook for them, too.
