Here is an easy dessert idea - good for Valentine's Day
I got my star back, and I thought I would celebrate by sharing a recipe.

Apple Tart

You need about 3 cooking apples (I like Granny Smith b/c I like it tart), peeled and thinly sliced. You could leave the skins on if you want. Mix the apple slices with some sugar, depending on how sweet you like it, I use a few tablespoons. Thaw out a sheet of puff pastry (like the frozen one Pepperidge Farm makes). The puff pastry comes folded up into 3rds, but instead of unfolding it (it cracks), roll it out to it's original size (3 times as wide as when it was folded up). Fold it into 3rds again. Put it in the fridge to firm up (about 10 minutes) and repeat. You don't want the dough to get too warm. Unfold the pastry onto a baking sheet. Then, cut off the edges so that the corners are square (it helps it puff up). Finally, score the pastry all the way around about 1/4 inch from the edge. This will let the edge puff up and form a lip. Then pile your apples on the pastry and top with a few dabs of butter all around. Bake at 400 degrees for about 25 minutes or until golden. Serve and enjoy! :9
