Hubband Apple Pie
Like me he isn't so much about the looks of the thing. Can't wait to eat it, though. Made his vanilla ice cream to have with it so he's happy.

2. He didn't do too bad on the mess.
I cleaned up the dishes but then I had plenty of my own to wash from baking a pumpkin cranberry cake so it was fine. But he did appear to have minimized the mess on the table.

Yeah, he is quite the guy. :loveya:

3. I notice he doesn't fuss about making the rim pretty either. I quit trying to.
That lovely fluted rim thing just isn't something I can pull off........

5. I just fold the edges over and crimp. Easy peasy.

I do mostly what pengillian said she does. I don't have the patience to do much more than that.

But he did put little bird cutouts on it. :D

10. What a timely post...
I'm in my first year of culinary school and today was my Retail Baking lab...four of us completed 40 blueberry pies, and then Chef asks us to create 10 crimped pie crusts to freeze for later filling. Mine ended up in the "cream pie" bin (not good enough for prime time, in other words).

The funny part was, I was rocking on the non-crimped blueberry suckers. Got a bunch of them made and quick. Crimping is evidently not my thing.

But the blueberry pies looked fab-u-lous.

8. It was delicious!
I had mine just by itself and he had it with the ice cream I made for him. We were both very happy with our dessert. :)
