What's for Dinner - Saturday Edition
Edited on Sat Feb-14-09 01:17 PM by Lucinda
We have a huge pot of Bill's chili simmering away and Ain5 bread sitting in the fridge, so I'm guessing were having Chili. :)

Whats for dinner where you are?

1. Sorry I kind of pre-empted you
with my Valentine Dinner thread last night. In absolute contrition, I wish to offer up this romantical Valentine song and dedicate it to all those couples here who are still in love after all those years together. I sincerely hope it rounds out your Valentine's Day celebrations.

3. Well you can't really technically say
that you're a non-V Dayer since you got an ecard and he's cooking dinner, now can you?

That's one of my favorite Prine songs. Cracks me up every time.

14. Thanks! I'll have to try it with sausage. I don't think I have before.
Seems like that would really perk up the flavor!

16. I have the insert too. Handy isn't it!
Adding to the moisture is a plus. I don't like meatloaf soggy, but I really don't like it too dry!

Grilled steak, baked potatoes, roasted asparagus. We started with a tomato cabbage soup and home made fajita crackers.

20. We had chicken and broccoli fettucine alfredo
My shortcuts are jarred sauce and frozen broccoli cooked in the microwave.

A crusy loaf of bread and some amazing oil from a local restaurant - they actually bottle it for sale!

Birthday cake (AALette's from yesterday) for dessert.

29. Yes!
They're a great time saver, but I only buy them when they are on sale.

Last time they were $1.00 a bag. I scooped up all they had and put them in the deep freezer. :D

31. I'll have to give them a try. I also need to be able to plan ahead
splitting it into different dishes. Bill is anti-broccoli, so the whole bag will be all mine!

Pollock is bland anyway, and the capers and olives gave it the necessary kick.
