Need Help and Recommendations on Immersion Blenders
Admittedly, I'm hard on my kitchen equipment but how hard is it to find a decent hand blender that will not melt in my pot and puree my Asparagus soup. I just tossed another one yesterday. I must have gone through three of these things in the past few years.

Anyway, I guess at this point, I'm looking for a heavy duty stick blender that is not made out of Plastic. I don' cook at molten temperatures but I want something that won't melt if it hits the bottom of the pan for a few minutes. I don't care so much if it has attachments-I just want something sturdy and that's easy to clean.

Does anyone have a stick blender that they love?

And its almost half off right now with free shipping! :)

On further reading it may be brushed chrome looking plastic. :(

4. Oh, and did I mention...
That the whisk (and its speed-up gearbox drive) makes the best,
easiest whipped-cream that we've ever had? (But Mr. Tesha keeps
threatening to "make butter, just once, just to see what happens!")

Seriously, that Cuisinart is one serious "bar mixer"! Never again will
anyone eat lumpy gravy or poorly-blended brocolli-cheese soups
in this house again!

3. I got several Thundersticks dirt cheap a few years ago
at ubid.com. They've been my all purpose wedding/engagement/housewarming present. They are a little underpowered as immersion blenders go, but they have a steel shank and cage and do the job just fine. They just fall a little flat at chipping ice and some of the other tasks spare parts are provided for. For pureed soups and smoothies, they're terrific.

I have one extra left. PM me if you're interested.
