I have a fondness for it, having spent many weeks in Nepal back around 1990, trekking up around Everest.

HEREHoly shit, they like their spices. We ordered an appetizer (not displayed on the menu linked above) made of chicken, red onions, and "medium", the heat seemed to come from cilantro, but I've never had spicy cilantro like that (if that is where the heat originated). The momos (kind of a dumpling) were great. My particular dish - I try to order something new (for me) every time was okay, not as good as some of their other stuff, but okay. I ate it with Lassi (a sort of yogurt drink), which helped kill the heat, but eventually ordered a beer (which I'm sorry to say, I find I can't drink anymore, so my wife had 90% of it). It's still very yummy, and an under-known cuisine, similar to, but not the same as, Indian food (Nepal sits on top of India, and next to China). It draws most of its influences from Indian food, but it's very unique. I love going there.
I overheard a couple next to me (it's a tiny place, like you'd find in the mountains in the Himalayas) ordering, and one, who had been there before, was cautioning his partern that they take their spices seriously. She had ordered "medium" but upon finding that he wanted medium, and he liked things hot, she backed off to mild. Good decision for her. Upon having that appetizer at medium, and I couldn't finish it - too spicy - I can't even imagine what "hot" is, but I'm sure it entails some cardiac event on my part.
Anyway, namaste....
