3. And if there are fingerprints on the surface of the jello, you
know someone in the cafeteria line rejected it before it was delivered it to your room.

10. On a recent stay in hospital
Edited on Wed Jun-03-09 03:09 PM by randr
I was in for several days a while back and had a real problem with the "product" I was presented with as food. I was visited by the staff dietitian to address my complaints. She turned out to be an obese person with an abrasive personality. One problem she had was with my avoidance of MSG. She stated that "all food has MSG" in it. I narrowed down the choice of food I could eat to rice. I asked if I could have any soy sauce to which she replied, SOY SAUCE IS MSG".
It is hard to believe that an institution who's sole function is health care has no idea about how to feed people a healthy diet. It is an indictment of the health care "industry" that they see no relationship between the food we eat and our wellbeing.
On edit: My wife and friends brought in food for the rest of my stay.

12. I have a rule -
if I can't identify on sight, I'm not eating it.

Tab is on dietary restrictions for medical reasons, so he's sort of stuck.

But, when I was hospitalized for a long time, I made friends in the kitchen, and they'd bring me the greatest tuna or chicken or ham and cheese sandwiches and in the morning, my eggs over easy were run up to me while they were still hot!

And, of course, there were the places that delivered - Thai, Chinese, Italian, pizza, and subs.

I survived, but if I never order delivery again, that'll be all right with me .........................

13. I doubt that something as lowly as a DUzy is much consolation
but you're getting one for this.

Blessings upon you. I can't even conceive of the strength required to undergo what you're dealing with, but I want you to know I'm part of your cheering section. Rock on.

16. Too bad you haven't had the fortune to be hospitalized in Honolulu...
Queen's Medical Center has one of the best cafeteria/restaurant food ANYWHERE!!!

Spent a lot of time there when my Mom had her bypasses - my Dad and I were much surprised!
