I was researching the old Mamma Leone's Restaurant of NYC and came across this blog. The current month of entrees isn't as rich in photos as other months. I started from the beginning and am checking out the many photos from decades past that he's posted from his family archives and elsewhere. I like this guy's attitude.

Interesting about the DOP replacing the DOC/G. We always go for the IGTs (now IGP!) anyway, as the handing out of the DOCs was so corrupt that they really don't mean anything and there are so few DOCGs. Wonder if they'll have to re-apply for DOP or if it automatically converts?

There are so many great Italian wines that never make it over here. I hate going to the Italian wine section of a shop and seeing nothing but dozens of different brands of Pinot Grigio and a few crappy over-priced reds. :(
