Question about baking brownies from a mix.

Question about baking brownies from a mix.
I baked my brownies by the instructions on the box, in an 8x8 glass pan, 45 min at 325F.

They were perfect around the edges and underdone in the middle.

What should I change next time I bake these brownies? (Note: they contain no herb ;))

Got no herb, and not enough energy to bake from scratch.

Wouldn't even know where/how to get herb.

4. Check your oven temp.
You can get an oven thermometer for pretty cheap.

If you don't want to get a thermometer, then next time you bake brownies, just leave them in a little bit longer. You can test for doneness by poking with a toothpick in the middle. If it comes out clean, it's done.

I think 325 is a little slow for brownies. You might try 350.

5. Our oven sucks so we bought a good thermometer long ago.
Someone else suggested the stay in an hour at 300F. . . . ?

or look on their website - sometimes when you complain they sent coupons to shut yo.... I mean - keep a good customer.: :rofl:

7. With glass, you can scale the temp down by 25°.

8. That was my idea
Overdone edges plus raw middle mean too hot an oven.

Still, scratch brownies are easy and so much better than a mix, I wonder why anybody bothers buying a mix.

I make them in one pan on the stovetop, transfer them to a baking pan, and have only the two pans and a spoon to wash.

11. You could try one of these two things:
1. Bake at a lower temperature for a longer period of time.
2. Use a metal baking pan.
