Made an old-fashioned simple pot-roast tonight.....
nothing fancy. Pot roast, carrots, onion, celery and potatos. A little bit of salt/pepper.....onion soup mix and a cuppa water. Put it all on low (350 degree oven) for a few hours and viola!!!!

Wow! Was it ever good!

:smacks lips:

I love the 'gourmet', but 'simple' is often "the best"....

2. Never had much luck with a veggies in a crockpot
Less tender cuts of meat turn out GREAT. In my crockpot experience, vegetables turn into an almost inedible mush.

Short version: less tender meat in a crockpot

Vegetables (even root vegetables) were never meant for the crockpot.

3. I think you put the veggies in much later than the meat, to avoid
the veggie mush thing......

5. My family just went home, stuffed to the gills with pot roast
with carrots, onion, and potatoes. What a satisfying meal on a grey, rainy day.
