Blue Bunny ice cream...
is on sale again this week-- two phony half gallons for 5 bucks. Rotates with Edy's, Breyer's, and Turkey Hill around here for who's on sale. I say Blue Bunny is the best of 'em, plus I can use the containers for everything from mixing paint to storing nuts.

Got some Bourbon Street Sundae, a new one. Butter pecan laced with bourbon flavored caramel and huge chunks of chocolate bark coated pecans.

If I didn't have this phenomenal willpower, I could easily scarf down the entire container, and go back to get more.

1. I'll stick to Bunny Tracks
if I want something overdone and decadent.

I do agree it's very good ice cream.

5. Bunny Tracks is now my second favorite...
since I found this stuff.

(Double Strawberry and Bordeaux Cherry Cordial are up there, too.)

3. My favorite ice cream comes from Schwans
A Minnesota firm that delivers nation-wide. And now they sell a heck-of-alot more than just their own brand name ice cream. The ice cream got the company started - and it is the best ice cream around. But who wants ice cream in January, eh?

4. We use Blue Bunny french vanilla
exclusively, in a dessert which has become a favorite at plated dinners. A great dessert for summer guests. Crush chocolate covered graham cracker cookies, add melted butter to bind. Press into the bottom of a cake pan. Cut faux 1/2 gallons vanilla ice cream around 1 " thick and press into the pan. Get a good quality raspberry sorbet, we buy some from a smaller Italian maker, it's perfect raspberry red with pieces of raspberry in it. Soften the sorbet and put a 1/3" on the vanilla ice cream. Freeze solid. Make a chocolate ganache.. good quality 60% cacao content 3:1 (3 chocolate, 1 heavy cream)melted together, Drizzle the ganache over the dessert when plating, top with a few red raspberries and a mint leaf. People like this simple dessert a lot.
