So I wrote to King Arthur Flour
and I asked "Are there full sized loaf pans that are half as long?"

and I got back this... (I love these guys!)

"Dear Fellow Baker,

Thank you for writing. No we do not have any full size pans that are
half as long. But look at the technique used in this blog. You may be
able to use it-basically baking two loaves in one pan. you can then
freeze half.

http://www.kingarthurflour.com/blog/2009/10/15/half-a-loaf-is-much-better-than-none-%e2%80%93-and-sometimes-even-better-than-one/

I hope this information will be helpful. Please email again if we can be
of further assistance.

Happy Baking,

Joan

1. That looks really good, tesha!
The loaf pans I have are 9 x 5 inches long. Way too long. I've been meaning to pick up a couple of 8 x4's. Even an inch makes so much difference.
