Braised Beef Short Ribs
I haven't been doing too much cooking and baking lately. I don't know why. I thought it was the winter blues, but spring is here and I'm still not in the mood.

I did get some organic beef short ribs on sale through our coop and looked for some recipes. I knew I could find one at Elise's website. I think this is gonna be a real good one:

I now have them in the crock pot as I currently don't have an oven proof dutch oven and because we use propane here. Electricity is cheaper when cooking something for a couple of hours.

1. That pictures looks good enough to eat! The grocery stores
around here never have beef short ribs. I don't know why. Is it a western thing? Same with brisket. Only time I find brisket is around St. Patrick's Day and it's already corned.

Let us know how they turned out.

3. They turned out good

but I think they could have used some more salt, maybe a bay leaf and definitely some garlic. They taste fine to Bill who has a low tolerance for much garlic, but he did salt and pepper them.

2. Looks delicious!
I made a pot roast yesterday that just fell apart in the most wonderful way. Pot roast with new potatoes and carrots - one of my favorite comfort meals. So good, I am going to eat it again tonight.

Enjoy yours!

4. I love it when meat falls apart like that.
You just know it's going to taste good. Going to make some yogurt garlic mashed for them tonight.

Enjoy your pot roast, hon. :hi:

5. oh yummm!

we made oxtail stew a few weeks ago - same kind of wonderful braised falling-off-the-bone super-rich-sauce..

Mr Tesha always adds salt and peper at the table,
I like less salt - and I prefer the taste of salt on top of the food instead of mixed in...
